Mathematics
Mathematics at Crofton Hammond Infant School is taught through a creative, hands-on approach that encourages children to explore, reason, and solve problems confidently. From EYFS through to Year 2, pupils build strong foundations in number, shape, space, and measure, with increasing complexity as they progress. The curriculum is designed to be engaging and accessible, using real-life contexts and interactive activities to make learning meaningful. Children are supported to develop fluency and flexibility in their thinking, often exploring multiple methods to reach solutions. Parents are actively involved through home learning suggestions and the Tapestry platform, helping to reinforce mathematical understanding beyond the classroom.
