Curriculum Overview
At Crofton Hammond Infant School, we believe that every child deserves a curriculum that inspires, challenges, and celebrates who they are. Year 1 and 2 will hold Key Stage 1 curriculum meetings for parents at the start of the academic year. Year R will discuss the Early Years curriculum.
Our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and nurture a lifelong love of learning. Through a rich blend of hands-on, practical experiences, children explore the world around them in meaningful and exciting ways. Whether they’re investigating nature, building models, or solving real-life problems, our pupils learn by doing—developing independence, resilience, and confidence along the way.
We use Philosophy for Children (P4C) to encourage thoughtful conversations and deep thinking. Children are supported to ask big questions, listen to others, and express their ideas clearly. This approach helps them become creative and critical thinkers, ready to engage with the world with empathy and understanding.
Our curriculum is inclusive and high quality, ensuring that every child—regardless of background, ability, or need—feels valued and supported. We celebrate diversity and tailor learning to meet the needs of all our pupils, helping each child to thrive and reach their full potential.
We do not currently provide any remote education.
At Crofton Hammond, learning is an adventure. We are proud to offer a curriculum that prepares children not just for the next stage of their education, but for life.
